Front of House Manager

While working as a Front-of-House Manager at ThaiPop, you will oversee all front-of-house (FOH) operations and FOH staff. You will train and provide continuous coaching for all FOH staff. Additionally, as a member of the management team, you will ensure excellent public relations, a clean and presentable restaurant, outstanding customer service and experience.   

Minimum Requirements: 2 years equivalent restaurant management experience.

Core Job Responsibilities:

●      Train and coach new front-of-house staff (Servers, Bartenders, Hosts, Food Runners) when staff start and when staff require additional training or coaching

●      Create and maintain a work schedule for all FOH staff. In addition, maintain staff time off requests within the When I Work scheduling app.

●      Assign staff to specific tasks, work duties, server sections, cleaning tasks

●      Correspondence via phone and email for reservations and booking private rooms for large groups. Coordinating and organizing large groups/meetings

●     Order inventory and maintain organized inventory storage areas

●      Create, update, and manage cleaning schedules and protocols

●      Point of sales management (Cash drawer counting, end of shift tip-outs, etc.)

●      Manage conflicts with efficiency, respectful and professionalism.

●      Update ThaiPop documents as needed (i.e. staff training docs etc.)

●      Lead periodic staff meetings/Weekly management check-ins

●      Control and keep Labor cost at or below 26% of sales

●      Conduct yearly employee reviews for all front-of-house staff

●      Run errands as needed for supplies and other needs of restaurant

●      Present self professionally and always dress professionally

●      Other Duties as assigned by Managers  

 

Managing Staff:

i.          Manage and train all FOH staff as needed when hired and ongoing

ii.          Conflict resolution - Solve conflicts in a respectful and neutral manner and conducts necessary disciplinary actions

iii.         Provide timely and appropriate training - Train all new staff and current staff on new menu items and protocols

iv.         Provide timely employee feedback and yearly reviews (Reviews will be completed once per year in January)

V.          Create a daily schedule for FOH staff to provide sufficient staffing at all times

Vi.         Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Vii.          Assign staff to be “cut” when needed according to customer flow and labor expectations

Knowledge and Certification Skill and Abilities:

●      Minimum 2 years of equivalent restaurant management experience

●      English Language Proficiency

●      Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

●      Preferred, but not required: Working Knowledge and experience with TOAST, OPEN TABLE, WHEN I WORK, GOOGLE Platforms, MAC, Adobe Art Platforms

●      Must be available to work Min. 40 hours per week (five shifts per week) and weekends as needed (FOH Schedule Example: 12pm-9pm, Tuesday-Saturday). Friday and Saturday Night shifts are required for this position! (Closed Sundays)

Prefered Skills, Abilities and experiences:

●      Spanish Language proficiency

●      Serving and bartending work experience

●      Professional conflict management training (Certification)

●      Experience working with Thai or SE Asian cuisine/cocktails

●      Serve Safe Manager license 

●     Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field

●      Proficient Computer skills (Google/Gmail/Google Docs, MAC)

●      Current involvement in community organizational work/public service

Physical Demands

○      Must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods throughout the day

○      Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel

○      Must be able to reach and twist occasionally

○      Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects occasionally

○      Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds occasionally

○      Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions

○      Must have good hand-eye coordination

 Working Environment

There may be some off-site venues for catering and events (i.e food events, Thursdays Downtown, etc.). May have loud music or noise and warm and cold conditions. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and some holidays.
