Server

Summary: Takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests.

○     Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. This includes but not limited to: emails, phone calls and face-to-face.

○     Must be receptive and open to giving and receiving constructive feedback to and from the team as well as one to one basis. 

○     Must be passionate about food!

○     Must have a passion for being part of the team and helping to lead the staff (both back of the house and front of the house) by example.

○     Takes orders from guests for food and/or beverages.

○     Serves meals and beverages to guests.

○     Accurately communicates orders to kitchen.

○     Observes guests to respond to additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed or beverages consumed.

○     Prepares hot, cold drinks for guests and chills bottles of wine.

○     Obtains and replenishes supplies of food, tableware, etc.

○     Remove dishes and glasses from table or counter and takes them to the kitchen for cleaning.

○     Computes cost of meal and delivers bills to guests, accepts payment and returns change and receipts.

○     Communicates and coordinates wine purchases with Tessa’s Wine Office staff

○     Fills condiments and other containers as needed.

○     Cleans assigned station including chairs, tables, side stands, menus, fold napkins/roll silverware, etc.

○     Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Certification Skill and Abilities:

○     At least 1 year of experience working in a full-service restaurant as a server is preferred. Must be able to speak, read and write proficiently in English.

Physical Demands

○      Must be able to walk and/or stand and sit for long periods throughout the  day

○      Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel

○      Must be able to reach and twist occasionally

○      Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects occasionally

○      Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds occasionally

○      Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions

○      Must have good hand-eye coordination

 Working Environment

Office, restaurant and off-site venues for catering and events. May have loud music or noise and warm and cold conditions. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays.
